Definition of Stupidity?

A mother telling her 2 year old that she's going on a big airplane, and flying to Ireland to see everyone who's ever been to visit us, and a few more besides, 5 days before the fact!

'Mommy, we go in airplane right now?'

'C'mon mommy, rets go, now'

'Mommy, we ready to rock 'n' roll?'

'Mommy, I help you pack the supercases'

'I wanna go Ireland, right now!'

'No mommy, Dora snacks NOT for the plane, I want Dora snacks RIGHT NOW'

Definition of frustration?:

A mother trying to explain:

'two more sleeps before we go',

'not today birdy, 2 more days' and,

'no, Baby J doesn't need to take those 0-3 month trousers that he's grown out of and that you've managed to drag from the bottom of the closet!'

there's nothing worse than a toddler who's ready to go RIGHT NOW! I've made that mistake far too many times!

ohhh {shudder} That was a reminder of all the times I wished I kept my mouth shut and didnt tell the girls we were going somewhere. Hubby tries to turn it around and use it as a threat, as in, "Keep it up and we aren't going to (fill in the blank)!" It's even worse when it gets cancelled and then the girls are sooooo, so, so upset! :::sigh:::

I feel for you...

Oh I do that all the time completely forgetting that even my 5 year old has no concept of time.

That line is hard to toe - the line between having them be too prepared and not prepared enough. I've been there, and I'm sure I'll be there again!

Hahaha. That's so funny. It's not too far away now, though!

Mine is 7 and still have to wait until the last moment to tell him our plans!

Oh dear. You need a diversion. Have her design some games for the plane or do the gardening, or paint the house....

Good luck. Keep breathing.

I hear you. We make judicious use of 'sleep charts' where Bambi colours in the blocks each morning until d-day. As these occasions usually coincide with the giving of gifts she puts them under the category of reward chart and we're all happy!

So true. Tell them on the way to the airport, right?

Yeah, toddlers don't wait so well, do they?!

Hope you all have a terrific trip! I wish I could go with you!

Sounds about right! I have made that mistake too many times. Why, oh why do I forget each time? Why, oh why can't I wait until it's time to walk out the door to mention our adventure?

I tried to explain a simple flight across the country to my two year old and now whenever I have to tell her to wait she puts two chubby fingers in my face and says "TWO DAYS."

Oh, yes. I've done that too. You think we would learn, but it happens again and again.

LOL at the supercases!

What a cutie! Reminds me of my Emma. She's just about three now and just recently learned the concept "later". It's heavenly!

I just found your blog today and am loving it. You come off as a sincere gal with a great sense of humour. Lovin' it!
