Back in the ole U S of A

Can you have two homes? Two places that you feel comfortable in? Two countries that you can call 'home'? This is what life is feeling like to me these days. Jetlag and suitcases yet unpacked prevent me from explaining this in anything resembling a coherent fashion so I'll leave it for later.

We're back from our trip to Ireland. Travelling was hell on a stick yesterday and I vow that next time it will be sedatives for four please!

We all had a great time, and it was sad leaving loved ones once more, but trust that some of them will be back here to visit us before long.

If you want a stark illustration of how much time you 'waste', blogging and reading other blogs, take a step back for 3 weeks and then look at your reader subscriptions - yikes! I doubt if I'll ever catch up on what my favourite bloggers have written, but feel like I must because I hate thinking that I'm missing something.

I have so many thoughts and reports on our three weeks in Ireland to share but for now, it's unpacking, laundry and more blessed sleep.

can't wait to hear about your trip. That's a place that Jay and I have always hoped to visit. We've missed you while you've been gone! And for the record, I think you should just "start fresh" rather than trying to catch up on everyone's posts from the last 3 weeks... that could make you crazy!! :)

Thank God. Annie's back. My lone fan. My "ditto" buddy. I'm so happy!

I was thinking about you this morning, as I face the remainder of a week I just don't want to participate in, and thought, "I should just delete my Google Reader and blog favorites file this week so I can get this crap done." Having stepped away from the computer for weeks at a time, I am always amazed when I return to my nasty Internet time-sucking habits and realize just how caught up I can get in, really, nothing.

That being said, every single damn post I wrote while you were away was genius. Read them all. I need your comments on every last one of them.

Can't wait to hear about the trip! Hey, did you see my brother over there? He would have been the broken down cyclist begging for money at bars and refusing to get a job.

Sign into IM soon. Well, not soon, because I really have too much work to do. I'll tell you when we can be friends again. You take up too much of my time. Now that I think of it, I need you to go back to Ireland for about three more days so I can get some work done.

I love you, Annie! I keed. I keed.

Welcome back Annie! Hope it went well. I can relate just going the other way last year when my two were your two's ages! UGH! We said that's it for a long time. Maybe Disneyworld when the oldest is SEVEN! :-) If they miss us over there it's easier for ONE of them to come see us, and cheaper! But I digress! Welcome "home!"

I'm so glad you're back. Since I live vicariously through others and their fun times, I can't wait to hear about your trip.

And I've been nowhere, yet my Google reader haunts me daily with too much to read. But what if I miss something...ahhh! It's never ending. Don't feel bad!

Welcome back. Can't imagine how tough that trip must have been, but sounds like it was well worth it.

Wow! Welcome "home", Annie! I've certainly missed you!

And I was only gone for one week, and when I signed back on I realized that i would never EVER catch up! So I just clicked "mark all as read" and started from scratch. I'm sure there were some awesome posts I missed, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, right?

I can't wait to hear about your trip!!! SO glad you're back!

Sounds like you had a great time, quite the nice lay of the land to holiday within.

I was there last year for the St. Patricks Festival... took a year off my life with all the Guinness but damn well worth it.

Cheers

Found you on Jenny's blog. Jet lag IS awful. Sedatives during long haul flights are miraculous...trust me... espescialy for young children!

Glad you're back. And, speaking as a military brat and now a military spouse, home is a state of mind, not a place.
