Eternal sunshine of a distracted mind?

Or, a drastic case of mommy brain? Whatever it is I don't like it!

Congratulating myself on managing to take a shower while both kids were awake, and out of my arms reach (always a dangerous scenario), with no injuries sustained, I was feeling all smug and clean, here at my computer conveniently ignoring the laundry, the dishes and the unmade beds.

Until I discovered that I have only shaved one leg!

Someone please tell me that this is because I am a mother of two small kids, both of whom have me up at least once a night (and never at the same time, so I'm actually up at least twice a night)? Or am I doomed to a lifetime of embarrassing forgetfulness?

I snorted out loud when I read this! I am continually rushing around in the shower, praying Carson hasn't unrolled all the toilet paper or sorted through the bathroom trash...and realize I've only shaved one leg or under one arm! So annoying. And so typical of being a Mom, I'm afraid.

I take quick showers too usually with my kids watching a tv show on my bed. I usually get both legs shaved, but I miss a million places!

ahhh yes, the small accomplishments are such big things (I can so relate).

tomorrow you can do the other leg - no big deal. One extremity a day isn't so bad! :)

Wow. Sounds like we had the same day.

Seriously.

Except I had my shower and completely forgot to shave. Period. Because I was that tired. Oi.

well...if it's because you have small children, then i have no excuse.

But have you shaved the front of both legs and neglected the backs? That's what my worst forgetful showering experience looked like. And let me tell you, it was not pretty.

You shaved even a portion of your legs? AND you have TWO kids?

I gotta get crackin'.

Brings back memories of my daughter running to me while I was in the shower, carrying a video and shouting "Rewind, mummy." Or worse, "I went in potty, mummy, and baby crawled into it." In a couple of years, you'll have your brain -- and your showers -- back. Then when menopause hits, you'll forget to shave all over again.

I'm thrilled if my ankles are shaved!

And I've forgotten to rinse out my hair conditioner. Lovely.

Too funny! My advice? Wear pants!

You mean you managed to shave a leg?? Gosh, I've given up! I told Hubby that if he wanted smooth legs, he'd have to shave them himself. I barely have time to tackle the growth in my armpits!! I don't shower in the day time anymore, only after the kids are all in bed and none have gotten up again for at least an hour.

One shaven leg... that's awesome. Talk about a time saver! "Honey, please just be sure to stay on my LEFT side..."

HAH!!! This is classic! Part of the glorious time that is young ones . . .

Now that's a good one. It was a public service really--helping all the other mommies out there feel just a little bit better. Showers are never a relaxing thing at my house either--I'm always either refereeing from in there or yelling at my youngest to stay off the kitchen countertops. When you think about it, it's amazing that we even dare enter the shower with sharp objects...

Funny! Never know what I might find when I exit the shower; usually skip the shaving altogether for fear of what 90 extra seconds will allow! I just posted an article on Mommy Brain moments--please stop by and let me know if I can link to this post!
